DIY Workshop Equipment Plans

Browse DIY workshop equipment plans for real fabrication: shop cranes, gantries, scissor lifts, hydraulic presses and welding fixtures. Each project is a downloadable CAD package: an editable 3D assembly plus, depending on the package you choose, 2D production drawings and a bill of materials.

Lifting Equipment CAD Plans: Shop Cranes, Gantries and Scissor Lifts

The largest group in this collection is lifting and handling equipment: mobile gantry cranes from a light A-frame to a 10-ton frame, foldable shop crane plans with hydraulic booms, a floor-mounted jib crane, a single girder overhead crane and hydraulic scissor lift tables from 500 to 1200 kg. Every project ships as an Autodesk Inventor assembly with a neutral STEP export, so you can check clearances, change the span or height and plan the steel list before cutting anything. For the full lifting range, see Lifting, Handling & Transport CAD plans.

Shop Press Plans: 50 to 100-Ton Workshop Hydraulic Presses

The press projects cover 50- and 100-ton workshop presses and a 60-ton heated platen press. The drawing sets detail the frame weldments, pins and cylinder mounting, and the 50-ton project adds a Nastran FEA report for the frame. Browse them in Hydraulic Press CAD plans.

Welding Fixture Plans: Positioners, Pipe Vises and Clamps

For fabrication work, the welding group includes a 360° rotary welding positioner, a pipe vise for round tube, a 90° corner welding clamp and a Kant-Twist style clamp. These are compact welding jig CAD designs you can build from plate and standard hardware and adapt to your own fixtures. See all of them in Welding & Positioning CAD plans.

Workshop Equipment and Tools for Everyday Shop Tasks

Some projects belong to the workshop itself rather than to a single process. For the shop floor there is an Industrial extraction arm for welding and grinding fumes and a Movable service platform ladder rated for 400 kg. Among the smaller tools you will find a kindling and Log splitter for firewood and a Free snap-off knife design, a quick way to check the file quality before you buy a larger project.

What Every Workshop CAD Project Includes

All workshop CAD projects are sold as instant digital downloads, usually in package tiers, so you only pay for the files you need:

  • 3D package: native Autodesk Inventor assemblies plus STEP (and in many projects STL/DWF) for Fusion 360, SolidWorks, FreeCAD and other CAD systems.
  • 2D package: dimensioned DWG and PDF production drawings for cutting, drilling and welding.
  • Full Pro Pack: the complete 3D + 2D set with the bill of materials, ready for fabrication or modification.

Package contents differ between projects. Each product page lists exactly which fabrication CAD project files are included in every tier.
